It will also be necessary to worry about the familiar aspect since the sty can be contagious; in this case it is advisable to use clean disposable towels, making sure that they are not used by other members of the family.

Natural remedies against sty
Since it is an infection, it is good to treat styes with anti-inflammatories or with ad hoc drugs to defeat the bacteria responsible for the disease, obviously always under strict medical supervision as we have already explained to you previously.
Among the natural remedies, chamomile compresses for cleaning the eyelid are very effective and they also have a calming and soothing effect: the only recommendation is to take care not to crush the sty in order to avoid the spread of the infection to the whole eye. For this operation you will have to use disposable cloths or pads.

  • Chamomile, in addition to cleaning the affected area, can also be used as a natural remedy to treat sty; just put a lukewarm sachet directly on the eye for 15-20 minutes for 2 or 3 times a day.
  • Another natural remedy against sty is to prepare a pack with infusion of warm green tea to be applied with a cotton pad soaked in the eye, without rubbing, for a few minutes several times a day.
  • Extra virgin olive oil is also often used in the treatment of sty; just place your eye on the neck of the bottle and look inside for a few seconds
  • An old remedy handed down by the ancients consists in placing a sterilized gold object on the swelling for a few minutes.
